What are the best census cd's to buy for the warwickshire area's and how much are they? |

I got the london 1871 and 1891 from S&N Genealogy supples (www.genealogy.demon.uk) and are available on CD rom and DVD They seem fine to me. The site will give you the current costs and availablity if indexes. The 1881 is available from the LDS, the British ordering information is on the website, cost about £30 I think Sylvie |

Hi Darren, Warwickshire Family History Society have a lot of data which can help you. If you live in the area why not join the society? They will also be able to help you in other ways - they run workshops, classes and have a research service. The LDS sell the Warwickshire 1851 census on CD at around £10. Before you spend a lot of money on CDs see if the FHS can help you. Gwynne |

Sylvia I have the 1851 census for London, but it is address searched. Are the ones you have searched by name, also do you see the original document as you do on the 1851? I really don't know which one to buy next, I really want them all. Lynda |

Linda My 1881 is by name and is transcribed without the original document , the other two are street indexed and are both the original document, they are not transcribed. The other comment on the local FHS is worthwhile though - it's worth joining even if you are miles away. I belong to two or three now and you can buy things from them through the post |
