ANDREW, You mentioned two older children but they have been deleted off of your message. Does that mean it was a mistake. Could you let me know. Lynne

We aim to please. Glad you found what you were looking for As said before, the 1891 is on ancestry, but they do charge to use it. As we pay a fixed amount to use it, look ups are not a problem, doesn`t cost us any more to look.

Hi Lynne, So glad that's helped. 1891 census from Ancestry uk. 1871 census not available on-line as a whole for the country. Bits are being transcribed for the freecen project (link to that in the rescource centre on left) Other than that you have to buy it from one of the sites that scan and copy onto CD, but usually have to buy each county individually. I don't think much of 1871 is available yet, though. A lot of counties are now available for 1861. Best way is to ask on here for a look up. If you don't get any results, it's not because no one will look for you, will mean no one has that county! Good luck! Debbie

Think his birth place is actually called Rougham. I had difficulty reading it, so I cross-checked it with the 1881 census and with Streetmap. Andy.

I work with someone who's might be related to me. We spoke about it a few months ago, but since then her Mum has had a few strokes and now she's been told she does not have long to live. So it very hard to ask any questions, but I have found her Mum's Dad on the 1901 census - Reuben C Stevens. Now it states his Mum is widowed. Could some nice person or persons have look on 1891 to see what his Dad's name was, so I can actually find out if we are from the same link. I am really close to my friend but it would be nice to be even closer in her time of need. Thank you. Details as follows:- Ella B Stevens 41 0n 1901 census, parish Hook Surrey. Born Surbiton Surrey. Children - Francis 19, William 18, Ella 16, then Reuben 13 and finally Phillip 11.
