In a situation like this, I send the application to one with a postal order for £7 made out to Superintendant Registrar, and enclose a stamped envelope with no address on it. That way, if they dont have it, they can send it on to the other.

The month and the year, is the quarter that I found it. ie March quarter is January, February and March. First names of people followed by the district they were registered. The numbers at the end are the office of National Statistics code number for that entry, Volume and page number. Hope that makes sense

Here it is, September quarter 1907 Edwin Francis Eton 3a 953 The number is a bit blurred, but that is what it looks like.
