Might be an idea to look at Alfreds in 1881 and follow them forwards. eg. There is a DODDS family in Birmingham, George and Mary and young family who could quite possibly have had more children over the next few years.

Patricia Can i take it you have Alfred on 1881, what age was he. I have just looked at 1851 Warwickshire and there are a few Alfreds on there but need some idea of age. George

Sorry Patricia, Think I'll have to admit defeat on this one. I've checked every Ellen Dodd on the whole census under 10 yrs old, and variations on Dodd. They're just not there! Debbie

I suppose it is possible that it could be staffs as the boundaries change, i assumed that it would be Warwickshire, Thank you for that information.

Hi Patricia, Only 2 Ellen Dodds both 8, neither father Alfred in Warwickshire. Only one Alfred Dodd old enough to be her father, but he's in the workhouse! Could it be Staffs? Debbie
