Is there any way to view household lists on line? especially from 1880-1948?

There's the census' online. 1881 on family search (free) 1891 at Ancestry (you have to pay for this one) 1901 online (this is pay per view) Hope this helps Jeanette

you can also try FreeCEN. just found them today. pretty good access for 1851 - 1891 though some results not found. sandra

Thanks Jeanette and Sandra. I have a full set of 1881 CDs But strangely enough I cannot get the info I want from them. I was hoping I could find a certain road in Essex and find the rest of the household-but alas, no help. I have found the family concerned, but the wife was not at home at the time of the census :-( Thanks again for taking the time to answer Viv
