Has anyone got any idea why GC wont accept my gedcom file? It keeps saying "no one in the file matches the owner of the tree" my tree is empty. I have tried contacting GC but they don't answer. The file has been changed to "ansel" with no luck. I am not a computer novice.

Robert, Your details on this site need to match with the forename, surname and year of birth of your entry in the Gedcom file. Crista

Hi Robert, I had this exact same problem! All details matched the owner exactly, but still wouldn't load. Check your home page! I was amazed to see that it said I had *2* names in my tree. They were both me!! No probs thought I-I'll just delete one. BUT they were both the *owner* of the tree!!! and couldn't delete either of them. The only way I could resolve it was to to get GC support to remove everything and re-register. I lost all my contacts and access to other trees. I was not impressed!! Debbie

Thanks Deb but thats not it I only have one name in my tree. I tried loading from gsp family tree with no success, so loaded this into PAF which accepted it. I exported it from there in different formats with no success at GC. It is probably something glaringly obvious but I am stumped!
