Kat, Virtually every female I have in my tree got younger with each census. Seems to be normal to lie. Crista

Hello Ladies! Thank you both for trying. From the 1891 and births info I have the annie should've been younger, but so many ages were changed on the censuses that I won't rule her out! Best Wishes, -Kat

Maggy, Kat was lucky. There aren't too many Ernest or Horace Smiths around. I found him on the 1881 census and used his age and birth place from that. Crista

Well done Crista! I did see the "billposter" one but he didn't match the Annie that I thought was the right one! Maggy

Kat, I might be missing some kids as I was only looking for ones born in Hants. Crista

Kat, Here they are: Forename(s) Lastname Age Year Born Where Born Census Place Census County Occupation Ernest SMITH 36 1865 Hants Southampton Islington London Billposter Annie SMITH 26 1875 Hants Portsmouth Islington London Ernest SMITH 11 1890 Hants Portsmouth Islington London Alfred SMITH 10 1891 Hants Portsmouth Islington London Frederick SMITH 7 1894 Hants Portsmouth Islington London I got this by searching on Smith born in Hants and living in Islington, so there could be other children. Thank you margaret! I don't mind how the information is found, it's just that I have found a 3rd cousin once removed and am trying to connect the dots! Thanks for trying though - I am sorry to burden everyone with a name like 'smith' to search for! If it helps I have just looked it up on the 1901 census free-search part and there is an Ernest Smith who is a Billposter (as he was in 1891) and he is 36. Living in Islington, London. Born in Southampton. If anyone can please tell me the household I would be most grateful. -Kat

Hi Kat, Have had a look on the decoder, can only find Annie Smith, aged 30, born Landport and living in Portsmouth. Can't find her husband or her son. Can't do a general search on the surname because there are too many, sorry. I will have another look, but you may be better hoping that someone will have a look at the image for you. Hi, I'm sorry to ask this but could someone please do a 1901 census lookup for me? It's just that I only have one thing to check and don't have the decoder...bit expensive to spend £5.50 just for one name! Here are the details: Annie Frances Smith - 29yrs approx. Born in Landport/Portsea/Hampshire. her husband Ernest Horace Severen Smith - 35yrs approx. Born in Southampton/Hampshire. I think they also has a son Ernest W H Smith (not a joke!) 11yrs approx. Born in Hampshire too. Ernest is listed elsewhere as Horace, so if there is a likely match under than name then it may well be him. He seems to have constantly swapped his given names - like so many of my ancestors! I do not have a steady occupation for him but they were living in Portsmouth, Hampshie in 1891. Thank you so much, -Kat I have them on the other censuses but not this one.
