World connect and global tree

Two great sites to upload family trees onto are; worldconnect(.)rootsweb(.)com www(.)gencircles(.)com(/)globaltree The first one has billions of names on it and is very easy to search. The second one 'smartmatches' your names with the ones already present, so it links your tree with other peoples. The problem is, British people do not seem to upload there info onto them to the same extent as the Americans. If everybody from this site uploaded their trees, connections would be far easier to make, without the problem of having to hope for our contacts to respond. PS They are both TOTALLY FREE to use

Got mine on both already but it's good to give them a plug. You have to remember to keep updating them when you add names to your tree though.

Russell I have my tree on Gencircles, and have had for some time. As a direct result, I was contacted by a second cousin who had information about part of the family I did not, and vice versa. We are now actively researching together, sharing information, certificates, photographs and leads, enabling us to get back to my great-great-great grandparents in a matter of months. Gencircles is a safe, free site, excluding details of living persons. There are also message boards - although I haven't had much success there - yet! Janet
