Phillimore atlas - opinions please

I've ordered it!! £45 off Phillimores direct p&p included. I am now getting into areas I have no prior knowledge of so I think it will be useful, on a long term basis.

Its is very useful if your research is taking you to areas you are not familiar with. I bought mine a couple of months ago not sure if i needed it but have referred to it a few times now. It shows the registration districts as well as what records are held and where. Its very much a "long term" reference book.

Its a very useful book but you will only use it intermittantly. If you are close to a town library they should have a copy in the family history section. I would get the money spent on something you will use more frequently. Gary

It is a very good book, gives you all neigbouring parishes, which parishes are on the IGI, the dates that different parish records start from. Worth while if you don't have any other access to it. Ros

I have a birthday in a couple of weeks and I'm thinking of asking for the parish atlas - £50 - Anybody any opinions whether it is worth having. I am not too good on geography and hope it will help with parish boundaries etc., and location of records
