Hi, I was considering asking for either the 1841,51,61 or 71 middlesex census on CD for Christmas. I was just wondering if anyone has brought any of these in the past and were they helpful? What types of searches can you do? and is it possible to sell them on afterwards (so I can afford to buy another census CD, then it can be an ongoing Christmas present!!!!) Thanks Anna

Anna I have the 1851 London Census, when I first tried it, it was a bit daunting, thought I'd brought a "wrong un" but after sitting down and not jumping in at the deep end ( I always do that) I find it fascinating. It is only area and Street indexed, so you have to know where your families lived. I have not found a single relation of mine yet.. but I'm sure I will. I have found for others so thats nice. You can go from one house to the next, but I must say as you are seeing the original documents, some a very hard or impossible to read, but overall I think it was money well spent. I have looked on ebay and census' seem to have a good resale value, but I'm keeping mine. Hope that helps. Lynda
