Hi, My friend John is having trouble finding an ancestor in 1891. Her name is Ann (Annie) NAPPER born 1874 Wotton, near Dorking, Surrey. He has her in 1881 and 1901 but cannot locate her in 1891. Please could someone try to locate her. He thinks she would still have been in Surrey and may have been in service. In 1881 she is indexed as Vapper. Thanks, Gwynne

I've found the NAPPER family on there, but youngest daughter Mary is the only one still living with her parents. Still trying different searching combinations for Annie...

The nearest I can find is: Anna NAPPER, 17, Servant, born Sussex Brighton Living in the Enfield district I know Brighton isn't where she was born, but I noticed some of her siblings were born in Sussex and so I wondered whether these places were anywhere near Brighton...

Hi Ruth and Andy, I've managed to regain conrol of the internet from my son. Thanks very much to both of you for your efforts. I'll print them out and pass them on to John and let him decide which is the right Annie. He told me this morning that he'd never be able to find her in 1891 and I said that members of GC probably could. I can hardly wait to get to work on Monday afternoon! Thanks again, Gwynne
