Gwyneth you've worked hard on this one , thankyou. John and Lydia are my family, and I think Samuel must be a brother. The other looks interesting but I won't be able to check any connection yet. Will certainly hold on to the information however. Thanks again. Marion

John was definately born in Harbertonford but had moved to Plymouth by then. If its no trouble to look for Henry nearby that would be great but I would place my bets that he's died. Any sign of a widow ?Treby? Marion

Hi Marion, One of the brothers is a Smith so I think they probably worked together. Blacksmiths were the first toolmakers, so that could account for it. These were the only Henrys in the area you wanted - would you like me to look further afield? Gwynne

Thankyou Gwyneth, this looks very hopeful as a family. The only confusion is that John was married in 1837 'of full age', so this must be his brother rather than his father. If there isn't another Henry perhaps he's passed on (as they do!!). Henry, according to several directories found on the web was blacksmith until Samuel took over (c1891). Marion

Looking for Henry TREBY a blacksmith from Harbertonford, Harberton Devon. Have recently received his son John's wedding certificate, so now have his name. Would anyone be kind enough to look him up in 1851 Devon for me? Marion
