Please I am hitting my head against this brick wall!! Trying to find marraige of Gt Grandad to a widowed lady,looked St Catherie's index,1854-1860 no luck. He was born in Ripon and want to see if he is still there on 1851 census. William Hammond B 1825 Ripon. Regards Ann,Darlington

Hi Ann, The LDS have filmed the 1851 census so you can order a film of the Ripon census at any LDS centre for a small fee. It is kept there for a month for you to search. Hope this helps, Gwynne

Thank you Gwyneth I am losing it with this marraige or maybe they didn't get married, they were in Darlington in 1861 so wondered if William was still in Ripon --don't know which way to go. Confused Ann,Darlington

Hi Brenda I'm sorry I don't know which area of Ripon,I am going by his baptism entry it just says Ripon. I realise how long it takes and I would appreciate if you can look, but there's no rush. William and his wife are an elusive pair. Regards Ann,Darlington
