To me Stanhope is Stanhope, never knew the name of the parish? but I do know that the council area was large taking in lots of small villages. The C.of E. Churches, didn't take much notice as a child, a Church was a Church and not C. of E, R.C. Methodist ect., ect., Audrey Kruizinga-Church p.s. yes, my maiden name is Church. but I 'm looking for Parkers.

Audrey, Go to "Resource Centre" on the left of this page. Then click on "Genuki". You can go to Country, County and Parish. If you lookup Stanhope or any other Parish it will give you details, and often a Transcript of the Parish Registers. Good luck Jim
