yeah i think it is probably right that the middle name was added at baptism. I think this is what I need to find. A baptism

The way I understand it is that middle names were often added at baptism. My gt gt Grandmother had a certificate with just a first name but her marriage cert and her childrens birth certs state a middle name. If all other details fit I'd try it. If you order through the GRO you can insert checking points so if it's not the right details you don't get charged the full amount. Cleo

is it likely for a middle name not to show on the gro references but then show on the birth certificate. I cannot seem to locate a birth for my great grandfather with his middle name but there is one without it.
