I am off to the Surrey History centre Tuesday 28th, I will be looking the electoral registers for 1939 and 1945. Have taken time off work as it is half term and decided it is time to venture out into the wide genealogy world beyond the computer. michele in haslemere

I live near Warwick Records Office. I can't go often, so if it is urgent I can't help. But if you are willing to wait then email any look ups & I'll do my best. Sarah.

Norwich/Norfolk area. I cant get to the my local library every week, but i am willing to try and help anyone who wants BDM searches. I havent progressed to parish records yet, but i am off to the library next week (after the half term madness, lol) and would be happy to have a look for anything that might help. Yvette

I live near Medway Archives and Local Studies Centre. It holds material from the entire Medway area and adjacent locations. Census returns including a name index to the 1841 to 1891 returns are available. (Chatham, Rochester and Strood) Local newspapers from 1830. Naval lists from 1814. I have not used the centre myself as most of my family are from London but would be willing to help someone else. Shirley

The thought occurs that anyone living near enough to visit their local Record Office might be willing to check out entries in the parish registers for those who live too far away to do it themselves. I can get to the Essex Record Office in Colchester and would be happy to do quick checks for people while I was there doing my own research. Obviously, no-one could expect long searches on their behalf, but a quick confirmation of b, m or d should be possible. I hope others out there would also be willing to put their name on the list - I could do with some help in the Maidstone area! What do you think? Vanda
