Not much I'm afraid... 1 Hannah Bullard born 1815 1 Hannah Mullard born 1826 2 Hannah Pollard's born 1806 and 1821 1 Hannah Wollard born 1827 Several Hannah Ballards and a Hannah Stallard. Just looked for any that looked old enough to be gt grandmother! May not really have been that I suppose - may just have been someone helping out as you say. Sorry can't get you any further at moment. You need, I think, to get an 1891 address search done to see if they are still there. Maz. XX

I hope she wasn't a Dullard, but will look again...

Hi Maz, bit of a puzzler I know, Hannahs surname is possibly Bullard (The ullard part is clear but not the first letter could be a P or even a D) Afraid all I have on Agnes Lyons is that she is named as the mother on the certificate. I suspect she may have left the child for someone else to care for and possibly died or even gone to the workhouse. The child was later raised in a household called Shrubb in the Horsham area. The only other evidence I have from the certificate is the address the child was born at which was 20 Glebe Road Southhamton. They wer'nt here in the 1891 census though. Wonder can the address be traced in 1891 to see who was there? Maybe a relative who helped Agnes hide her pregnancy.lol Penny

Hi Penny, can't be sure of Agnes or Hannah in Berks, Hants, IOW, Oxford or Surrey from the disc that covers all. Do you have any more idea of DOB of Agnes, or have you deciphered Hannah's surname yet?? Any more info may help!! SORRY - makes me cross when I can't find something!!! Maz. XX

I have just received this morning a birth certificate which I am hoping will unlock some more clues in my search for the parentage of my g grandmother Daisy Ethel LYONS. Her birth certificate (March 1892) gives her mothers name as Agnes Lyons. No mention of any father (which is as I suspected) now the interesting part is, under informant it says; X the mark of Hannah Pullard (Surname is a bit unclear) great grandmother present at the birth 20 Glebe Road Southampton, Birth reg 20th April. I have tried searching for a death of Agnes(only one but registered in Whitechapel) and also searched for Agnes and Hannah on the 1881 no joy. Any thoughts greatly welcomed. Sorry if this is waffling I'm a bit excited!!!! Penny
