Hi Sinead, Don't worry if you can't get down there anytime soon. My friend is related to Caterina/Catherine Fulgoni who married Giacomo Bracchi. They were both from the Bardi region in Italy. Thanks, Crista

Hi Crista, have spoken to my mum and the Teresa there now is a Melardi by marriage and she thinks her grandfather was the original Bracchi. Do you have your friends details and how she is related to the Bracchi's and then I can go and speak to Teresa next week? Sinead

Hi Crista, Sorry about the delay in getting back to you-busy day with the kids!! I will investigate and whatever I dig up I will post on this board for you. There may not be much till next week as with half term, time is severely restricted.Have noted down those details and will commence chats and searches! For now bye! Sinead

Hi Sinead, Any details you can get on the Bracchi would be greatly received. I only discovered this a few days ago and I don't know more other than Giacomo Bracchi married Catherine Fulgoni and they had Luigi, Irena, Guiseppe and Giovanni and they were in Aberdare in 1901. FreeBMD also lists Theresa and Francesco being born in the same area after 1901 so they could be their children also. Many thanks, Crista

Hi Crista, The Braachi's are still in Tonypandy,Rhondda, running a cafe on the square-Teresa Braachi runs it now with her family. As far as I am aware the family is buried in Llethyr-Ddu Cemetery(alias Trealaw Cemetery).I go up there weekly for my grandparents grave and can check this out next week when I go if you are interested.Lots of the photo books on the valleys have pictures and details of the Braachi's but the original cafe is still standing and running. Hope this is of some use to you, Sinead
