Does anyone have access to the 1861 census of Northampton please? My ggrandfather, Arthur PAYNE, was born in Harpole in 1859 so would be aged 2 on the census. His father was George PAYNE but I do not know the name of his mother. On Arthur's marriage certificate (1882), George is described as a Hawker. On the 1881 census I have noticed that there is a George Payne listed in Wellingborough - but I don't know if he is 'my' George Payne! His wife was called Christian and this George Payne is a Coal Dealer... |

I think this is probably the parent's marriage (although the name is spelt differently):- |

I think this is Arthur's birth (which will confirm his mother's name):- |
