missing from census 1891-1901

Can anyone help .I am tracing two families 1) James Longhurst b:1863 bethnal green. He is on 1891 census with wife Amy & 5 children.In 1901 census he dissappears with son James b:abt1885. 2) 1891 Census William J Head 24, Lily Head (wife) 20 Wiliam J Head (son) 9 days--1901 census William Head 35 ,Lily Head 31, Lily Head 8, Rose 4, Esther Do you think the two James could have died? Do you think the two Head families are different? I am searching my nans name Lily Head b:1892 Hackney.

There is a death of a William John Head registered in the June qtr of 1891 aged 0 registered in Hackney 1b 353 so the Head family on both census could well be the same one,with William missing from 1901 Anna

Marie, Where are the Longhursts living in 1891 and 1901 and what are their names and ages? Crista

Marie, Have you looked at the 1901 census image? Sometimes only part of the family gets transcribed and other get left off. Crista

Christa They are living in London. I think Hackney. On the 1891 census its 34 Wick Rd, Hackneybut Im not even sure its my Nans family. I hope it is. By the way was is your name, someone I went to school with was Chrissa and emigrated to US.. Thanks for your help Marie
