If you search on freebmd, bear in mind that the index has not been fully transcribed yet, so if you don't find what you are looking for, don't give up. Check with your local library service and ask which library in your area, keeps copies of the microfiche for the gro index. Another way is to find out where your county record is as they should have the full gro index on microfiche. You may well have to pay there to view these (at my record office its 50p per hour) but will be sure f having the complete index to search. Good luck and be warned this is a very adictive hobby!

Try freebmd(.)rootsweb(.)com When you get in, go down to the red box for search and follow the instructions. To limit the search to a practical one, try to limit it to less than (say) 10 years, or to a geographical area like a registration district, or at least a county. Best wishes Stan

I am new to this family research, so am unsure what to do next. How do I go about obtaining info on the free births marraiges and deaths. What is the web address, please. Have found some info in the 1881 census, but am unsure where to go from there.
