Yes that bit sent me into utter confusion as well, so i put a message on this board about it a week ago, and got several messages comfirming that different enumerators put things different ways, i think they were certainly her childern by her first marriage.

Re 2 daughter in laws aged 7 and 5, these are probably step daughters. The enumerator probably got it wrong. Even then, girls were not allowed to marry at that age.

Can anyone suggest anything please until last sunday i thought my gggrandmothers name was Jane Hardy born in Braunston, Northamptonshire, married to John Foster in 1880. On the 1891 census they had 6 childern all under the age of 10, but i happened to look at the 1881 census last sunday and found both her and John married but with his son John Foster aged 11 and 2 daughter in laws aged 7 and 5, both with what i thought as Janes maiden name, cos i was wrong, and they both seem to have been married before, any idea's on how i am going to find her maiden name, i thought it was funny when i asked for a couple of look up's on Jane and they drew a blank. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
