After reading yesterdays's message board I took advice and looked up my Gt Gt Grandfathers will on Scotlands documents and it go me thinking about what it would have been worth today? Has anyone got any idea what £1000 would have bought in 1870? Or £13000 in 1930? All I know is that whoever got the money didn't save any for me!!!
