You may find the various county lists hosted by Rootsweb useful. Details can be found from the main rootweb site. Alternatively county lists can usually be found on the relevant county pages on Genuki. Tracy

If people put the county in the ancestor's details, then you can already search that way. And guessing as Wales, Ireland and scotland have their own counties this works well. Unfortunately this involves people actually inputting the same range of information!

Only an idea but as GC seems to be getting bigger by the day, would the next step be a County search board? As I go further back in my tree it seems that in the 1800's most families never ventured far from their village/town or county of their roots. Marriages, births and deaths seem also to be contained within each county. Migration from the UK usually included whole families which would be of help to descendents of such families who know where their ancestors came from. Any opinions on this?
