Hi Jeffrey I have looked on a few web-sites using the search engine without any luck (you have probably tried this already) - however, on the 1901 census there are 8 Milench family members, if you haven't looked at this give it a try, the site is http://www(.)census(.)pro(.)gov(.)uk (take out the brackets). In ther person search just put in the surname only. You don't have to pay unless you want to look at the census entry itself. Have an unusual surname can make the searching easier sometimes. Jeannie

Hi again I now have had time to look at the Family History (LDS) website. Quite few entries for MILHENCH in Northern England and Scotland. Perhaps if you can trace it back, you will find where the name originated. Jeannie

Jeffrey, Perhaps it was Milhench originally. Typing Milench into LDS produces lots of Milhenchs all in Lancashire and Yorkshire. This could be the Scottish link you mentioned. http://archiver.rootsweb(.)com/th/read/DUMFRIES-GALLOWAY/1998-08/0903686084 Could have been McIlhench. Crista
