Margaret My comments were expressed because last week you commented that a particular contributer to the boards should not use a particular board "as this was not the intention it was set up for" That person then emailed me directly, and another GC member, quite upset and apologised for using the "wrong board" In light of that I thought you also were using the board for the "wrong reasons" But to be honest I have no problen if people want to exchange anything on the boards, they are not Yours or My boards they are ours. Perhaps, your comments sounded a little brusk, but were not intended to be. I hope this clears any misunderstanding up, as all I want to do is Find my ancesters. Lynda

Hi George. I was very grateful for your help and afterwards thought that it could come in handy which has turned out to be the case.I have helped a few friend out and even done a couple of look-ups on this site so it was worth getting. Chris

Thanks Chris for the mention. I have not replied to any help requests since they changed the boards as there are too many people moaning if not on the right request board. One or two are actually going through every message almost to add the same reply.I see you went and purchased the new disc. Are you finding it useful. George

I have also asked for the same type of help.A few weeks ago,I went to Sandhurst to visit my sister for a long week-end.Someone took my case by mistake. If I hadn't of asked and received help from George Tuplin who did a look on the electorial roll,I would never have got it back. Chris

Lynda I asked for help on this board because I knew that there was someone on here who had these discs. If it offends you that much I can remove the thread, but I will leave it here a little longer in case someone else needs the same kind of help. I thought that we were all supposed to be friends on here, can't friends ask for help on other subjects? I suppose it perhaps should have been on the guest board, but other than that I don't see the problem. William wasn't the only person to offer help, but he was the first. I have had email from a few people with kind offers. Margaret

I would like to think that I could ask my friends on here for help if I needed it. Particularly if it was in the field of what people on here would be able to help with. I do believe that the member in question is always around to help others. I'm sure many people have asked for such searches without stating why. Hope you have success Margaret ;o)) Regards Margaret

Surely a regular contributor to these boards can ask for general help too. I've asked for help in the past mainly for genealogical issues; I've also asked and received help about sewing websites/books and Emperor Zurg! A person misuses this site if they're always on "the take" whether for genealogical issues or anything else. What do you think? :-)

www 192 com gives you access to the electoral roll. I think you can also do search it through their directory enquiry service - I don't know the number as I have lost track of them all since the EU screwed up the directory enquiry system. Martin

I really don't think this is the right place to look for people who owe us money. This is not a genealogy question, nor a tip. Lynda
