I was just thinking to myself, wouldn't it be great if all birth, marriages and deaths for families were filed together, you woulf have no trouble then finding ancestor. so say there is a birth, then a marriage of that person, then they have children etc and all this was filed together, obviously it would ruin the fun of having to search for ancestors, but it would make life easier for those that don't have such good luck. what do you reckon????

More recent registers of deaths give the date of birth, which is a great help. I knew when my gran died (1984), but didn't know when she was born -she always lied about her age. When I looked on the fiche at the local Record Office for her death - there was her birth date!

When I married here in Canada, I was told by the priest that a copy of my marriage certificate would be sent to my former parish in England. This is the same parish were I was baptized. Always wondered if that actually happened. Would make it easier to find everyone, wouldn't it.
