Is it possible to find out who lived at a particular address ? I have some drawings of a house in Herefordshire done either by Elizabeth Sharp or Julia Beard in 1830. The drawings cams into my possession via my grandmother - intrigued to know how she got them . Is there a site for queries such as this or can anyone out there help ? Mary Brooke |

I do not think there is a service of the type you mention, but if you contact the Herefordshire Family History Society with the details and a copy, they may publish it in any magazine they issue. Sorrry I can't help with any details of that organisation, but I'm sure there is one. |

Another idea is to try the County Record Office - would be in Hereford maybe? - and/or the main library - again, probably Hereford. Maz. XX |

I contacted Herefordshire Council who were very helpful indeed. I now have photographs of the house as it stands today, a map of its exact position and the name of who lived there in 1837. The house is actually in Dilwyn and was home to Reverand Thomas Kyrwood Bowyear - just need to find a connection - if there is one - between the Beard and Sharp family and work out how the drawings ended up in Bedfordshire ! Just proves its worth contacting government departments on queries such as these. Mary Brooke |
