In this so called computer age, paperless society, do we all end up with piles of paper

How many of us have a folder stuffed with bit of paper? You know the scenario. You are chatting to mum or other elder relation on the phone, when they suddenly remember that great aunt Bessie married a sailor and they had 2 children called Janet and John. You grab the nearest scrap of paper, usually the envelope that contained that mornings certificates. I have a whole family listing from my mother, written on the back of a bingo flyer. We were at a bingo hall at the time and I did this during the interval.

The other day my grandfather decided to reveal some important info that he 'just thought he'd mention' For almost 50years my gran had been told that grandad and his father 'had the same name.' Their kids and us grandkids all believed this to be true, and so I had been searching for that info. Then he looks up and says 'well dad had the same first name, but the rest was different.' He also suddenly declared that he was actually born in a different road than the one he'd been getting me to search for! Aaaargh! -Kat
