Hi Kay, Have you found him on the 1891? I see that there is one age 3 in Sunderland how father was born in Germany. Have you seen that one? I would have thought if their name was Scandanavian is might be CARLSEN. Regards Margaret |

Can anyone tell me if a death certificate shows the deceaseds place of birth? My family have always been led to believe that my GGrandfathers family were Scandanavian, probably Danish, but he was born in this country. Arthur Carlson was aged 70 when he died in Sunderland and I have found his death on 1837 in 1958. Try as I might I cannot find a birth anywhere for an Arthur Carlson over a 2 year period (1887-1889). On 1901 there is only 1 Arthur Carlson and he was Welsh and his father Swedish. Now I'm even more confused. If I ordered his death certificate would it definately tell me where he was born?????
