many thanks Crista that certainly looks like my John...I don't think his death certificate will tell me anything I didn't know before. He and Mary nee FLYNN are my biggest brick wall....too old for birth certificates, not on the LDS site....no record of their marriage on the St Cath index, can't identify them positively on the 1851 and it's possible that one or both were not from Liverpool as they say. Am currently trawling the 1861 street by street hoping to find them giving a bit more information. thanks again Sue

To William, Crista and Helen thank you for trying to help.....I am actually looking for his father (my great grandfather) but because his name is John, I thought it would be easier to search for Edward....who may have married Alice KEHOE in 1898...I'm not sure. Edward's elder brother was also John born 1864. On the 1891 they are all together in Liverpool. Edward died in 1932 and is buried in Ford Cemetary, Liverpool in the grave owned by my grandmother, his sister. I always assumed that meant he had no other family but I know that's not necessarily right. I am just perlexed that I can't find any of them. thanks again Sue

I see that lots of us have the same problem.....I have exhausted all possible variations of the name and tried searching on first name and age only but no joy. Any ideas on how a 1901 style Ch could be misread? I need some lateral thinking from you to help me find Edward CHANDLER, born Liverpool ..he would be 26 or 27 and was a labourer in 1891. thanks Sue Surrey
