I have found out , from the cesus that my grt grandad was born in 1844(ish) in Longnor , staffs. I tried to find him on the staffs bmd page and although the indexes are transcribed for that area and that year I cant find him. His name is Robert Goldsmith. Could it be that he was missed off or is it more likely that he wasnt born there. I think I will send off for his marriage cert, , but will have to wait til next pay day comes around as i seem to have spent a fortune lately on sites and certificates, not always for the better, but you live and learn! |
