I am new to tracing family trees. I would be grateful if someone could advise me of how to access the census. Any other useful sites ?

Go to FamilySearch for the 1881 census.

I said it before but don't forget your local library! Mine (in Castleford) has them for the local towns and villages from 1841-1901 and there is lots of other stuff. The online material is still growing, the Freecen site looks the most promising. Bob

Put 1901 census into your search engine. You can search a name for nothing but need to pay to see family etc. you can buy vouchers with which to pay, I can get them either at the local Record office or the main library in Gloucester. £5 minimum. If you open up the 1901 census site it will explain fees. Ann Glos
