Hi Jackie, both my husband and i have looked at the maps, and cannot find Loughinney. My husband who is Irish has never heard of this place, but that is to be expected. We have a relative born at Lambs moss, Co. Down, it turns out the Lambs Moss part is the name of the farm!!!!! You can access the 1851 census on line, just type into your search engine '1851 census for Co. Down (or other parts) Northern Ireland, and it comes up with lots of sites to explore. Happy hunting. Hello Jackie, I have some copies of maps for the Co Down and Co antrim areas, they date from about 1850, when i return from work , i will dig them out and have a look for you. There is also a site that lists old Irish names but at the moment i cannot find it. I will be going over to Ireland in the new year to visit family, i will also be paying a visit to the records office. I will put a message on the board nearer the time that i go. speak to you soon Eileen in Portsmouth
