Don't forget to put that you only want the cert if the father's name is William - then you will get half back if you have ordered the wrong one. Maz. XX

Crista, I think I might go with first one but I was thinking of phoning up Southwark records office which is in Peckham. I had been hoping someone could find her and husband John Abbott in 1871 census to pinpoint age. Thanks Shirley

Shirley, I'd go for the one from '44. In fact, if there's an earlier one you might want to consider that aslo. I have so many female relatives with birth dates that get later as they get older. It seems to be the norm. Crista

I would like to send off for birth certificate of Mary Ann Mitchell but there is a choice of at least 3. In 1881 she was 36. In 1891 she was 44. In 1867 she married of Full age. Which one would you choose. Mar 1844 St Saviour Southwark or 2 for Sept 1846 " I have her fathers name as William. Shirley
