On the 1901 census at Elswick there is Scott Spraggon aged 40 with wife Annie aged 34, both born Newcastle, he is a solicitors clerk. There is no Annie Hayes from the Newcastle area, so I think that Annie Noble almost certainly married Scott Spraggon. Grimshaw Heyes seems to be living in Whitley with three children aged between 3 and 10 but no wife at that address. I can't find Amelia Heyes on the 1901 census, though, neither can I find her death after 1895 on freebmd, so she is a bit of a mystery. It would be nice to have tied up the events from both ends to be absolutely certain. |

On the other hand, it could have been Grimshaw Heyes. If you can get an 1891 lookup, that will confirm who married who, as will the 1901 census, which you can do for yourself. |

In the 1881 census Scott Spraggon was born in Newcastle in 1861, so he's a good bet. And he was married in Newcastle T Dec 1889, ref 10b 48 |

Hi, Looked up a marriage record for Annie Noble 1889 St. Pauls Church Elswick, Newcastle upon Tyne and the spouse list gave four names, Annie Noble, Grimshaw Hayes, Scott R Spraggon and Amelia Lundi. I imagine that two are the witnesses but who did she marry. The list is as it appeared. Any suggestions. Thanks Anne-Marie |
