Julie Out of interest, what are the names of the bride and groom? I think that Colonel Sir Thomas Hungerford Holdich, the Surveyor of India may have been associated with this regiment. Certainly his son Godfrey was born in Mussoorie, India in 1882. I know Sir Thomas wrote several books, which may be of interest to you. I would be interested to see what you find out on Mussoorie.... Best wishes Neil |

I received today, from the British Library, my great, great grandparents marriage certificate. They were married in India in 1893, he was a Sergt. Instructor, Mussoorie Volunteers, 2nd Royal Irish Regiment. I have been to Cathy Day's excellent website 'Family History in India'. But I can't seem to find out very much info on this particular regiment. Does anyone know, or can you point me in the right direction? Many thanks, Julie |
