I am new to this but this is all the information i have on my fathers side.John Joesph Harris who served in the scottish army which i have certificate of discharge number317996.He then married Isabella Taylor nee Starr on the 24/2/48 address then 135 bedford rd,Bootle.We believe his address before this was 21 Runnymead drive, Belfast which we think is where he was born although scotland might of been place of birth.He died 3/6/52 address 21 Runnymead drive Belfast.He was born 1890.I dont know which information would be the best to go on as i know most of census in belfast was destroyed please help

You could obtain his birth certificate. You will need to find him on the Irish birth index. If you have a LDS centre near you, they will have the index. You will then need to order the certificate from Belfast. I will try and find the address for you if you want.

Hi Pamela, If your father was born in Scotland you could download his birth certificate and view the 1891 and 1901 censuses for Scotland on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk. You would also find out details of his parents and download their BMD certicates. It's a pay to view site but well worth the money. I'm sure that someone else will comment on where to look for any other information in the rest of the UK. Good luck Regards Margaret

If he was born in Belfast, here is the register office address GRO, Oxford House, Chichester Street, Belfast, Northern Ireland, BT1 4HL
