I'm trying to find out what happened to my grandfather who died in Germany in 1970. He was from Ireland and worked for a doctor, when he developed cancer he went toGermany to see the brother of the doctor he worked for as he was a cancer specialist. When he died the family couldn't afford the £1000 to bring his body back to Ireland so they were told he was cremated there. When my uncle died in Ireland in 2002 we found a copy of something which resembled a cert.I have contacted the registrar in Stuttgart and they told me that there was no cause of death on the form it just stated who he was and when he was born etc, also there was no record of cremation. Does anyone have any ideas as to where i can go from hereas my dad would like to visit his dads resting place, thanks karen.
