Thanks to all of you good people out there who replied to my desperate need for help on this one. I'll definatelely have a look at Cyndi's List. I thought this genealogy stuff was difficult enough but it seems to get harder ! Take Care, Craig Simpson in Burnley.

Hi Craig, This might be totally irrelevent to your search, but on the other hand it might not be! PATRICK SWEENEY, born c.1815 at townland of Gortnacreha, Co. Limerick. Son of John and Mary Breen. Catholic. Transported to N.S.W., Australia in 1837. I found this in an old Irish Family History Journal. Linda.

Craig This may not help you, but for others who are looking for passenger lists a good site is http://www(.)cyndislist(.)com/ It covers lots of things, but also has info for passenger list for all over the world. Found my family travelling to Oz in 1885, told me the date they left the date they arrived and that infant twins died on route. Lynda

Yes, I'm almost sure that, because Ireland was part of Britain for that period, there would have been no records kept. Good luck in your search though. Helen

Craig I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think that there were any passenger lists from Ireland to England. Margaret

Can anyone help with a look-up on a passenger list from Ireland to England. I cannot find any info on Martin Sweeney born County Mayo, Ireland in 1841. The earliest record I have of him is when he had his first child Patrick in Wigan in 1871. He married one Mary Mulligan but I have no record of their marriage, maybe they married in Ireland ! I'm really stuck with this and would be greatful for some help or advice please !!!!!!!!!! Thanks, Craig in Burnley.
