Thanks Jan, I'll have a look and see if any names tie up with the family. Maggie

I just did a check on FreeBMD, and an awful lot of Ellis babies aged 0 or 2 died in the Hastings and Eastbourne areas during the period 1877-1895. No way of knowing if any of them are yours, of course, too many to buy the certificates. Jan.

Maybe it is just my warped sense of humour, but I did find this bit from your last post rather amusing James and Kate were married in Hastings in Sept 1877 and yes I think they must have died as babies I know what you mean, but it just tickled me.

Hi Ruth, Yes I have them in 1881, 1891 and 1901 - James and Kate were married in Hastings in Sept 1877 and yes I think they must have died as babies. I just wondered if the church would have details! Maggie

My Nan said she was the youngest of 9 - We can only find 6 - James Ellis born 1852 Rye Sussex (Father) Kate Ellis born 1853 Hastings, Sussex (Mother) - Children - Alexandra b1879 Hollington, Sussex. William b1880 St. Leonards, Sussex. Caroline b1881 St. Leonards, Frank b1887 Eastbourne,Nellie b1892 Eastbourne and Kate b1894 Eastbourne. Is there somewhere on this site that would tell me if there were other children born in this family? Maggie
