Has anyone ever heard of Emruela being used as a first name? Are there any other known variants?

I thought I had a female relative called Elvis, but it turned out to be Eliza - it was the way the Z was written. Kathy

Hiya - there are 2 on Free BMD!! A death Dec 1891 Emruela Woodman age 58 in Bedminster, and a Birth Mar 1903 Emruela Elizabeth G Clift in Axbridge. However, there is no trace on the IGI, 'behind the name' website or on Jeeves. Maybe it was a combination of more than one name?? They just made it up?? I suppose all so called 'modern' names must have been made up by someone .... Maz. XX

Thank you all - my query was in fact in relation to Emruela Woodman who was my gg grandmother. I have her as Emruela (formerley Carey) on my g grandfather's birth certificate and again in 1881 but apart from that no other trace. I was about to post a look-up request for her in 1891. Christa - you have anticipated my next line of investigation - I've sent you a mail via GC - I was trying to connect up the Emruela's on freebmd - you seem to have found the link!
