The following website has the electoral register for 2001 and also directory enquiries you just type a name and town and it searches for you. Lot of people have been commenting on this website on the tips board: www(.)b4usearch(.)co(.)uk although not completely up to date very useful. zoë

Amanda, you can order a death certificate from the Registry Office in the district where the death occurred. You need to know the person's name and year of death. Better still, you need to know which quarter of the year the person died. You can look this up on the St Catherine's Index at your local library. If the death was before 1903, you might find that it is recorded online on the FreeBMD website or elsewhere. What do you know about the death you are looking for? Maybe I or someone else here can help you. Paul

How do you go about requesting a death certificate? Especially if you only have minimal details of the person?

Debra, Look for an earlier thread put on by Nesta-she has recent electoral roll and was willing to do lookups. Sue

Through GC I managed to find out that my long lost cousin died in 1994, I sent for death certificate and found his widow name and address. I have sent 2 letters and the second letter advised that she had moved 2/3 years ago. How do I find now? Name when married to my cousin Yvonne Jeanette Sargeant 81 Forest Court ,Hanley,Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.Any advicewould be great.
