Jeanie, N/A doesn't work. David, I'll bet you are right about Gedcoms! Has anyone found a solution for direct entry, other than putting a zero for the date? I've been making some pretty wild guesses to avoid that. Be nice if one could put 1800s or 1700s or . . . . Thanks, Peggy |

I think those messages come up where your tree has been created by importing a Gedcom file, in which certain fields are empty but which GC treates as mandatory during screen entry |

As far as I can see, these Boards are not seachable (which lessens their usefulness considerably!), so I may be asking a FAQ. How are people getting "Date of birth not available" or "Place of birth not available" to show up? If I don't put a date or place, or at least a zero or "unknown", I get a message demanding that I make the entry. Thanks, Peggy |
