Cheers guys, I knew you'd help me out. Brilliant as usual. I checked out the various web sites and although Turner syndrome does sound a possability I think I may have found the culprit. It's called Kallmann's Syndrome and it's on the pituitary web site suggested. It's a hormone dificency (I thought it would either be that or genetic). There is even a support group for this type of ailment. It's one more piece. Talked to my dad again about Nelly and he said she looked to be about 12 as far as height at least is concerned. Evidently one of her sisters also couldn't have children but it was for something different. Anyway, cheers again guys Angie

Hi Gillian, It's because GC won't allow URLs to be properly printed otherwise. This usually applies to anything that's (.)com or (.)co(.)UK, which is why members have to bracket the dots! Try posting a message on here without the dots and you'll see what I mean! Dierdre X I think www.pituitary.org.uk would've worked though!

There's a website on Turner's Syndrome - sounds a possibility: http://www.turner-syndrome-us.org/resource/faq.html PS - why do a lot of people when posting URLs on the site put brackets round the dots???

I'm afraid I don't have a clue as to what this condition was. I only know that Aunty Nelly was a very strange person who my father (when he was in his teens) found very embarrassing when he had his mates with him but that Nelly was a lot of fun when he was little because she used to do things like bring indoor fireworks for them to have a go with. Will have a look at the suggested web site and see if it turns up anything. Cheers guys

Could it possibly be one of the chomosomal abnormalities, like Turners Syndrome? Just a guess.

Hello Angela I have found a very good website that translates old medical terminology into present day language. It is - "www[.]paul_smith[.]doctors[.]org[.]uk/ArchaicMedicalTerms[.]htm" Good luck Sheila

Just tried google, but was at a loss as to what keywords to use. I tried medical, immaturity, condition. I came up with Aspergers, but that is social immaturity. I have heard about what you are talking about but cant think of the name. Another term that springs to mind is Cherubism, but that is a facial feature. You mean the opposite to premature aging which is early onset alzheimers. I will get back to you if the name comes to me.

Hello all you helpful people, I've got a very strange relative called (by my father) "Weird Aunty Nelly" Evidently Weird Aunty Nelly never went through puberty and was physically a little girl all her life. She was also 4 foot and a spit tall. I must admit a certain amount of curoisity about how this would come about but I'm afraid I can't get my own GP to explain my own medical stuff let alone some one else's so I thought I'd look elsewhere but I haven't a clue on where and I know you lot are brill at pointing people in the right direction. Any help given would be very much appreciated. Cheers in advance Angie
