I have used this site and found it excellent. What you actually view are scanned images of the original document, so if you find something you will not need to re-check it elsewhere. I must admit, it can be difficult assessing whether it's worth viewing the results from your search. It cost me £6.00 to view a death at sea. The image was 20p to view but it was the one I wanted. The remaining £5.80 was wasted because they had nothing else I wanted. BUT, it was a lot cheaper than a day return trip to London. Jill

I've just had a look. Hoping I might get a lead on my elusive Ursula Gaden (and about 20 variations on the spelling to contend with) Unfortunately it seems for the years I want (1891 onwards) it is only indexed by the G meaning I would have to look fthrough all the G's every year until (or if) I found her. At £6 for 30 credits a bit pricey. Hopefully they may be able to index it better in time??

Hi Julie! Nothing to do with OLD passports, but the other day I was emailed a warning about current passport details being available online!A web addy was included, and a message from the sender advising me to remove my name! Naturally I went to website, filled in details, and up came a spoof passport supposedly in my name with an orang-utang as a passport picture and a GOTCHA message! At first, I thought that's what your message was about! :-)
