Andy I have the same message occurring - with the free version 4.0 download of Legacy. Thank you to those who have apparently come up with an answer to the problem. I'll try it too. Sue

Bob, thanks for your reply. I visited Tech support, followed the steps and have upgraded to version 5.0 of the standard edition. Just tried it out and the error appears not to be occurring where it was previously. Julie, thanks for taking the time to reply. Thanks Andy.

Hi Andy, I have the deluxe version of Legacy and had this exact same problem a few weeks ago. I tried the technical link that Bob has posted, but it didnt help. I ended up backing up everything to gedcom and uninstalling it and then reinstalled it. I did notice that it happened just after I had downloaded and installed some other software, so I just put it down to incompatibility. I have since uprgraded to version 5.0 and have had no more problems. Hope this helps, Julie down South.

I'm currently trying out the Standard version of Legacy 4.0 and would ultimately like to upgrade to the new Deluxe version of Legacy 5.0, however I've identified a strange error with the Standard version and was wondering whether anyone else had come across it. If I enter details for a particular ancestor and then press OK to accept them, then this works fine. However, if I then realise that I have entered something wrongly, I go back to edit the details and when I try to place the cursor in the appropriate box, using the mouse, I get this error: Run-time error '400' Form already displayed; can't show modally This error then closes down Legacy and I have to start it again; fortunately I don't lose any work that I've done. It doesn't seem to like the mouse, which means in order to get round this error, I have to use the Tab key to manoeuvre to the correct box. Any ideas, I've already tried the Help topics. Thanks
