I wish an angel would come down from the sky and help me find the marriage of my great grandmother and great grandfather. I have spent months now searching the gro ref's with no success. Starting to wonder if I will ever find it. Oh well I am not giving up yet. |

I remember when I originally started to try and trace my family tree, about 2 years ago. Myself and my sister decided to "do" both my mum and dads side. We were well and truly stuck with our great grandparents. We could not find a marriage for them anywhere. Her married surname was Booth, maiden name Moss. and we spent days upon days at the local Records Office looking for a marriage of a William Booth to Hannah Moss in a likely area. We trawled all the way through St Caths index to no avail and were about to give up. I left a message on Salford Yahoo message board. A lady replied to say that during her own search, she had taken down the details of a wedding between William Booth and Hannah Moss and gave me the date. I hurriedly purchased the wedding certificate from the local Registrar was delighted to find it was the right one. I immediately left a message on the same board to thank the lady. I never received a response, but more eerily, when I did a search, I noticed that she had never left any messages before this one for me. I have checked back since, and she has not left any messages since. I would like to think this was intervention from one of my great grandparents - what do you think?? N.B, when I had the correct date of the marriage, just out of curiousity, I rechecked St Caths index - the page was completely spoiled at the bottom, where the entry should have been, and so I would NEVER have found it without the help of this lady!
