Emma, your an angel, i hadn't seen this info from the 1891 census, this is definetly my Emanuel because i knew of some of these children the daughter Emilia was my gt nan, but i didn't know when her sister catherine was born. i was looking for the family at a different address no wonder i hadn't found them. Many Many Thanks to you Merry Christmas Michele incidently Rosemary the info on the Igi could be right, my Emanuel had a daughter Emily [could have been named after his sister] and another daughters middle name was Sarah. Michele You may already have this from 1891 census: Emanuel Phillips, head, widower, 40/46/48?, metal sorter, St. Pancras Emilia Phillips, daur, sing, 20, St. Pancras Emanuel Phillips, son, sing, 21, rag warehouseman, St. Pancras David Phillips, son, 15, railway boy, St. Pancras Harry Phillips, son, 12, scholar, St. Pancras Catherine Phillips, daur, 9, scholar, St. Pancras George Ben ?, relative, 15, railway boy, Hampstead at 11 Gower? Place, Kentish Town, St. Pancras, London Emma.

Thanks Cathy & Rosemary for your help Emanuel Phillips married Catherine Acton on july 11th 1869 at the old church St pancras both were of full age he a bachelor Catherine a spinster, Emanuels occupation a carman residence for both is only given as st pancras Catherines father Thomas Acton, Emanuels father no name given just the word dead. the marriage was after banns. Rosemary you were right with the church from the igi so maybe that could be my Emanuel. Many Thanks to you both for your help. Michele

Michelle, would love to help you if I can but I'm confused by your message. Please could you tell us what actual facts you know and full details from the marriage certificate that you have - who married who, when and where. Cathy.

My 2xgt grandfather Emanuel Phillips is on the 1871 census as being 22 born in St Pancras middx. on the 1881 census [Lds site] he's aged 54 [this is wrong his wife is aged 51 and died age 40 in 1891]. My problem being finding his parents on their marriage cert all is shown for his fathers name is dead, there is an Emanuel Phillips on Free Bmd which could be him but how will i know i've got the right one without any parents names to help, i don't know as yet even if he had any siblings. Any help with this would be very much appreciated. Michele
