Hi Belinda You could start by putting a message on the trying to find board for the names you are researching or sure of. You may get some replies if you're lucky and once you have established a connection things should become easier. As far as I am aware there is nothing to stop you (apart from descretion) from adding any names (dead or alive) on the Trying to find board. As you will be aware you can only add the names of living members of your family to your tree with their permission but if you know a surname and a year and place of birth you can start to build your tree by inserting the word "living" rather than their given name in the forename box. This info will then show up on the surnames list for all to see and someone may spot a link trhough the place and date of birth. I hope this makes sense and helps. Good luck. Eleanor x

How do I go about setting up a family tree of my natural family?? My real father is a great help with his side of the family, but my mother's side is proving a real problem.....as they did not want to know, I admit that was 10 years ago, but know for a fact that my half brother is on this site and there are other names that could be family but am scared of rejection yet again!!
